PHOTO & EDITORIAL WORK FOR WE-EF’S LAUDERDALE-BY-THE-SEA PROJECT
Illuminating Purpose
Along Florida’s Coast
Rachel served as lead photographer and writer for this AMBI client case study, capturing WE-EF’s turtle-friendly amber lighting in action across Lauderdale-By-The-Sea—a coastal town celebrated for its marine biodiversity and community-first charm.
The project called for visuals that could communicate both environmental responsibility and urban functionality. Amber lighting, used to protect endangered sea turtles during nesting season, has become essential in beach cities like this one. The goal was to showcase the beauty of the product’s light while emphasizing its ecological importance.
Rachel timed the photography precisely to sunrise, capturing authentic amber color temperatures without post-production enhancement. The shoot demanded navigating pedestrian traffic and active roadways while maintaining a cinematic, undisturbed visual language. Her husband provided aerial drone videography to further elevate the campaign’s perspective.
Rachel also wrote the copy for the project’s final landing page, balancing technical accuracy with a narrative tone that speaks to WE-EF’s purpose-driven design ethos.
Visual Narrative & Direction
The shoot’s visual language was shaped by natural light and contextual storytelling. Rachel’s imagery captured the glow of WE-EF’s amber fixtures against the soft palette of dawn—positioned between palm trees, storefronts, and sidewalks still waking up. Each shot emphasized integration with the built environment, environmental safety, and real-world application in a beachside context.
Aerial perspectives—captured via drone—offered sweeping views of the installation’s scale and impact across Lauderdale-By-The-Sea’s walkable downtown. Every asset was created with clarity, elegance, and editorial precision, designed for use across WE-EF’s web, sales, and social platforms.
